Breeders recognised from Riding Club Festival

(Editorial) The Association of Irish Riding Clubs has presented the winners of the two top showing accolades at the Riding Clubs Festival with a €100 cheque in recognition of their contribution to the industry.

Niall Henry breed Landanos Rolling Clover (ISH) which won the Carl Geisler Memorial Championship. Ridden by Susann Killilea, the eight year old, black gelding was deemed the supreme champion riding horse at the show.Meanwhile, Fintan P Flannelly was recognised for breeding My Georgina. The champion 15 year old irish draught won the Eddie Fowler Memorial Championship as best of the ridden breedsThis awards were only been made possible with generous sponsorship of Horse Sport Ireland and the introduction of a new database of horses and ponies competing at national riding club shows.  This was introduced late last year and is part of the Associations strategic plan to provide more recognition for the Irish breeder and horse across a broader section of the industry at an amateur level.

It's the first time in the Associations history that a breeder has been recognised for their contribution to the industry.
